SGA+CLF YOUTH-IN-ACTION
Sports Based Mentoring Programme in Partnership with Community Leaders Forum
SGA+CLF Youth-In-Action (YIA) is a Sports Based Mentoring programme for Muslim youths in secondary schools. The programme is run Free Of Charge for Partner Schools, YIA Protégés are not required to pay anything to be part of our SGA Pride.
Funding for the programme is provided partially from the Community Leaders Forum (approximately 30%) and the remainder from Singa-sports Academy's (SGA) own 'SGA Training Bursary', our own self funded Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative.
Curriculum
YIA is a 8-10 months programme that incorporates principles and elements of Positive Youth Development, through Mentoring, Sports Based Learning activities and Life Skills Workshop Modules for improved holistic development of Protégés as Community Leaders and Changemakers with:
- Competency is multiple disciplines
- Confidence in themselves
- Character
- Connectedness
- Copeability
In the YIA programme each participant will be provided with:
- Personal Development Plan (PDP) Lite version incorporated into a workbook.
- C-VAT Personal Value Profile.
- Programme T-shirt.
Certifications Awarded
Upon completion of this programme, Protégés will be awarded a Certificate of Participation, Achievement or Excellence, depending on their attendance and performance.
PILOT RUN IN 2014
SGA+CLF YIA 2014 @ YISS
The pilot run of YIA in 2014 was conducted in partnership with Yusof Ishak Secondary School, with a total of 115 students from Secondary 1 and 2 enrolled in the programme.

EVOLUTION IN 2015
Enrolment Expansion
The next evolution of the YIA programme in 2015 will be expansion of enrolment to:
- both Lower and Upper Secondary School Students (Sec 1-3),
- and more Partner Schools.
Curriculum Expansion
The curriculum is also expanded progressively to include more Sports Activities and Life Skills Workshop Modules.
